Eyo Ekpo is a seasoned legal and public policy professional with over three decades of experience spanning commercial law, energy sector reform, and public service. He began his career in 1988 at GCM Onyiuke Chambers in Lagos, where he specialized in commercial litigation and arbitration, appearing before various superior courts across Nigeria.

In 2001, Eyo transitioned from private practice to public service, taking on key roles in Nigeria’s energy sector reform. At the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), he served as Team Leader for the Power Sector Reform Team (PSRT), and later led the Gas and Petrochemicals division, contributing to the restructuring and liberalization of critical infrastructure sectors.

He has also held senior government positions in Cross River State, including Commissioner for Justice and Special Adviser for Special Projects in the Office of the Governor, where he oversaw legal and strategic initiatives.

Eyo served as Commissioner for Market Competition and Rates at the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), where he was responsible for fostering efficient and competitive market structures through fair pricing mechanisms in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.

His career reflects a deep commitment to institutional reform, market development, and the advancement of transparent regulatory frameworks in Nigeria’s energy and public sectors.
