Dr. Ibiola Amao

Principal Consultant of Lonadek Services

Dr. Ibilola Amao is the Principal Consultant at Lonadek Global Services, where she has led innovative engineering technology and information management initiatives for over three decades. Her work focuses on enhancing asset performance in the energy sector, driving sustainability, and supporting digital transformation across Africa, Europe, the USA, and the UAE.

A dual Nigerian and British citizen, Dr. Amao is a civil and structural engineer with deep expertise in engineering innovation and technology. She played a key role in the development and implementation of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) guidelines, which were passed into law in April 2010.

Her career includes consulting for the Vision 2020 initiative and serving in leadership roles across engineering, energy, and entrepreneurship. She has received numerous accolades, including the IWEC Most Active Women Business Enterprise Award (2016), Energy Institute Champion (2016), C3E International Woman of Distinction Award, Access Bank “W” 100 recognition, and the Forbes Africa Rising Star Award (2019). She is an honorary Fellow of Queen Mary University of London and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, the Energy Institute (UK), and the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

Dr. Amao is a former Council Member of the Energy Institute (UK), now serving on its IP Week Board and as a judge for the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Africa Prize. She is also a member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), the Institute of Directors’ Programmes Committee, and chairs the Industry Advisory Team. She co-founded the Cedar STEM and Entrepreneurship Hub and the Women in Energy Network (WIEN), and serves on multiple boards as an engineering technology expert.

A passionate advocate for human capital development, Dr. Amao has led initiatives that have trained over 5,000 engineers and empowered more than 100,000 STEM talents. Her work continues to focus on youth empowerment and increasing the participation of women in STEM fields traditionally dominated by men in Nigeria.
