UEX Biochemistry Professor Named to Prestigious "Texas Ten" List

Congratulations to Dr. David Hoffman, named to the 2019 Texas Ten, a list of top UT Austin faculty as nominated by alumni. Dr. Hoffman is a faculty member in the university's Department of Molecular Biosciences, and he has been teaching extra sessions of his popular biochemistry course for University Extension for years.

New Scholarship Offered for Summer 2019 Interpreter Programs

The Plan A Foundation has announced a scholarship that will pay the enrollment fee for one student to attend either the Legal Interpreter Certificate Program or the Healthcare Interpreter Certificate Program, during the summer.

Interpretation & Translation Career Seminar Scheduled for April 29

We are happy to offer our first career seminar focused on the field of interpretation and translation on the evening of Monday, April 29. The need for professional interpreters is growing. In fact, the U.S. Department of Labor projects 18% growth in interpreter and translator jobs through 2026, well above the projected average job growth of 7%.

University Extension Adds Cultural Anthropology to Self-paced Online Catalog

University Extension added ANT 302 - Cultural Anthropology to it's list of self-paced online courses. The course, which can be used to fulfill the Social & Behavioral Sciences core requirement at public universities in Texas, is now open for registration.

Spring 2019 Paralegal Certificate Program Includes CAPA Membership for Students

Students enrolling in the Spring 2019 Paralegal Certificate Program will have access to a year-long membership in the Austin chapter of the Capital Area Paralegal Association (CAPA). Membership will include access to a mentorship program for paralegals run by the CAPA organization.
