Program Spotlight

The Master of Arts in Economics offers a rigorous STEM-designated curriculum with quantitative training in economics on a flexible timeline of 10, 18 or 24-months. Courses are taught using a combination of STATA, Python, and R, but no prior programming experience is required! The program will help prepare students for PhD programs, as well as careers that require advanced tools in economic analysis, econometrics, and data science.

The LBJ Executive Master of Public Leadership (EMPL) is for leaders, by leaders. This 12-month program is designed for working professionals and includes a personalized leadership plan and executive coaching. The curriculum focuses on skills needed for senior leadership roles, including value-driven decision-making, crisis and financial management, personal brand development, and more. Courses are delivered through a combination of in-person sessions on campus at UT Austin and online classes.

The College of Education is collaborating with local school districts to meet the State of Texas's teacher shortage with a new teacher residency program. Participants in the Longhorns in Residence program attend UT Austin courses while spending an entire school year in the classroom gaining hands-on teaching experience alongside a teacher mentor.

The Executive Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership is a doctoral program that develops students to lead dynamic organizations in an increasingly complex world. Courses are taught by renowned faculty and higher education administrators with a practitioner-focused curriculum.

This 30-36 month program is designed to accommodate the busy schedules of working professionals. Classes are offered on the UT Austin campus with some online components.
